Welcome to day 1 of my “Pivot Year”. I am spending every day reading a page from the book “The Pivot Year” by Brianna Wiest. I am training my mind to be strong, but I also need to train my body. I have been led through life by my reactions and trauma responses. Today I am led with a desire to get still in my mind and to move my feet. I worry less about what people think and I worry more about getting out in nature and remembering what is really important to me.
To get started here is a little bit about me. I am a middle-aged woman who spent a good portion of my life married to a man, but then I pivoted and started over. I met a wonderful woman who has helped me work through a lof and has opened my eyes to my own strength. I will tell you all about my journey to the jungle to sit with plant medicine, my life experience, the crazy thinking that is my brain and the lessons I have learned. We can laugh and cry.
We get one life and I am already half way through. I am going to make the most of it.
Beginning “The Pivot Year- 365 Days to Become the Person you Truly Want to Be” by Brianna Wiest. She says “I hope this is the year you stop dancing around the perimeter of who you intend to be, of what you came her to do… I hope that this is the year you realize everything – every last thing in your life – will happen with much more ease if it is in alignment with your soul’s true intent.”
That is my goal for this blog and for you. We all deserve that. Alignment for me is equal to peace. Peace is equal to joy. As someone who spent most of my life fighting depression, I am thankful for my days of peace. I remind myself that the days will not always be filled with peaceful activities, but if I have grown, I can remain peaceful even when it isn’t.
Day 1: “You are exactly where you need to be. This is the perfect day to start your life again.”
That is what I have done. I choose me. I will not live only in the past. I will not fight the fear. I will love. I will live in alignment and I will believe that everything is working out for my greatest good.
I hope you join me for the ride.
